Founded in 2012 and based in the beautiful countryside of Mid Wales on the Shropshire border, Penmawddwy Stud is dedicated to breeding exceptional Warmbloods for sport. Our carefully selected bloodlines are chosen for their outstanding temperament, athletic ability, conformation, and proven performance.

We are proud to be home to the outstanding stallions Multicouture, Grundleinshofs Exclusive, Penmawddwy Platinum Gold and Penmawddwy Prime Excellence.

Our breeding programme focuses on producing high-quality Warmbloods for dressage, showjumping, and all-round sport. Standing between 15hh and 16.2hh, our horses are bred to combine exceptional movement, correct conformation, athleticism, and trainable temperaments, with dilute colour as an added bonus.

Our philosophy is simple: quality always comes first. Every mare and stallion is carefully selected to complement one another, ensuring each foal has the greatest potential to succeed in sport and as a lifelong partner. We breed for world-class movement, rideability, and sound conformation, with beautiful dilute colour being the finishing touch—not the primary objective.

With carefully selected elite European bloodlines, our ambition is to produce modern Warmbloods capable of excelling at the highest levels of dressage, showjumping, and eventing. By combining exceptional pedigrees with outstanding temperaments, athleticism, and conformation, we strive to breed horses that are as talented as they are beautiful.

From the very beginning, every foal is given the best possible start in life. Raised in a natural environment with plenty of turnout, they develop into confident, well-handled young horses with excellent manners and a willing attitude.
